About the City:
Terrassa is the fourth city in Catalonia according to the number of the inhabitants. Located in the northeastern region of Catalonia, the town is in the plain of Vallès Occidental of which it is the co-capital and the largest city. Its area of influence reaches more than one quarter of million people.
The city is located at the Catalan Prelitoral depression (Depressió Prelitoral), to the feet of the Prelitoral mountain range (Natural reserve of Sant Llorenç del Munt), the average altitude of the city is 277 meters over sea level. It is 28 and 20 kilometres from Barcelona and Montserrat respectively.
The city, heiress of a rich medieval, art nouveau and industrial inheritance, takes into account a wide network of libraries, Historical Archives and museums.
In 2004 Terrassa became the first Catalan city with aerospace engineering studies.

Examples are Empúries, the Roman monuments in Tarragona, the vast Romanesque heritage, both rural and urban, the civil and religious works of Gothic art, the great painters of the 19th century, such as Marià Fortuny, the flowering of Modernist art (Art Nouveau) with Gaudí, Domènech i Montaner and Puig i Cadafalch, and the world-famous Catalan artists of the twentieth century -Nonell, Mir, Gargallo, Miró, Dalí and Tàpies. Catalonia possesses a large number of museums, ranging from the famous Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, with its extraordinary collection of Romanesque art, to the small ethnographic museums of country towns.
Unfortunately the Catalan aerospace engineering is still very young, but it’s growing faster and faster every year. The main companies and organisms are associated in Baie (Barcelona Aeronautics & Space Association).
