On the occasion of International Women's Day, EUROAVIA Zagreb, a student association, organized an event called "Femme STEM". The event aimed to promote women's participation and achievements in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. The event saw participation from 10 successful women from academia and industry and 40 female students from 7 different faculties.
The event started with a brief introduction by the organizers, followed by the introduction of all the ten successful women. Each woman shared her journey, faced challenges, and achieved success in her respective field. Students asked questions concerning their careers, education, and personal life, and the guests answered them enthusiastically.
After the introductions, the event moved on to the main activity - a pub quiz. The ten successful women joined the teams of students to play the pub quiz, which consisted of questions related to STEM and general knowledge. The pub quiz was designed to be interactive and engaging and helped to break the ice between the students and the guests.
The quiz winners were announced and received prizes. Also, the last team got a consolation prize. Everyone congratulated the winners and continued the mingle.
The event was a great success, and the guests and students enjoyed the activities. The interaction between the successful women and the students helped to motivate and inspire the students to pursue their dreams and overcome any obstacles they might face in their careers. The event was a great way to celebrate International Women's Day, promote gender equality in STEM fields and connect women in STEM. Everyone left smiling and looking forward to the newxt year's edition.
